We're staying at a ski lodge just outside of Queenstown. Lots of big mountains around here with altitude skiing like in Austria. It rarely snows in town but climb 1500 feet or so and it's winter. This lodge is very different, apart from the usual microwave and fridge there is a communal kitchen and adjacent to it is a large lounge with several dining or game tables, a pool table and TV area, all for free. The kitchen has five four burner commercial gas ranges, an oven, all the utensils etc. and five small sinks for doing your dishes. We cooked there and ate in the lounge, very civilized.
