Car accident, not us
We were driving yesterday from Hamilton to Rotorua, the terrain is very undulating, can't farm but it's seems good for range land. You're either going up or down, very little straight sections. Being Sunday a lot of vintage cars were out for a drive in the country. One was a lovely 59 Chev among others. We came upon a slow down sign, road accident ahead, 30k speed, several hundred metres later the cones are out traffic control guys, one lane open. Sadly the accident was between an SUV and a real beaut of a restored coupe from the late forties. It appears the SUV didn't yield at a four way intersection. There are no stop signs here, only yield. One more point, a lady was telling me when people are taught to drive here, the roads are fairly wide with about a two foot shoulder beyond the white line. People are taught to drive within one foot of the white line therefore guaranteeing lots of space when meeting. That means with our little car I am basically in the middle of the lane.
