Port Chalmers, Dunedin

Port Cahlmers / Dunedin

Industrial port here, the container ship beside us just left, couldn't get a pic a Beth was writing on the I pad.  Just after getting off the ship there is a large tent with tourist info and free wifi.  It's very busy with crew members and passengers checking up with home.  Met a guy and his wife from Sorel.  Went for a nice walk and visited yet another bookstore, bought a used hardcover first edition about the Australian coast watchers in WW II, $45nzd, books aren't cheap here, but the bookstore guy said that he'd had just a couple of these in twenty years.  I'm going to try and send this from the back of the ship as it overlooks the tent and might have reception....L

Went to see the piano guy last night, was he ever good.
Free boat rides today, we are anchored in Akaroa and will be tendered ashore in the lifeboats. Just a small hamlet, they used to go to Christchurch which is 80k up the road but there have been too many earthquakes so here we are. We are sitting in the sun waiting for the line ups to decrease, here's the view.
